I am excited to be participating in the ScrapbookSteals blog hop for the month of May. I had a guest design spot for them back at the end of March and it was a lot of fun. So, I jumped at the chance to participate in the blog hop this time around. You should have arrived from Becci Manies blog...if not, go over and start at the ScrapbookSteals blog and work your way thru...there is a prize involved!
ScrapbookSteals has TWO steals a day...one at 9AM and one at 9PM. So, you have to be quick to get the deals and trust me they are great deals! And along with the great deals they also have scrapbooking ideas to go along with what they are promoting that day.
Each of us was sent the My Mind's Eye Journal Card kit to play with. At first I had thought about a banner, but then I just decided to put my banner idea to use on a layout.
Supplies: Cardstock-American Crafts; Pattern Paper-My Mind's Eye (Sweet Caroline Dolled Up collection); Tags-My Mind's Eye Journal Card Kit; Twine-The Twinery Baker's Twine; Letter Stickers-My Little Shoe Box, LilyBee Design and Little Yellow Bicycle; Adhesive-Scotch ATG and Fabri-Tac; Ink-Jenni Bowlin (Weathervane)
I used a total of eight tags and only three partial sheets of pattern papers.
I surprised myself on that one.
Here are a few close up shots of the tags I used on the layout.
All of these tags were basically cut in half and then I covered the cut with the polka dot paper. This also gives me the other half of the tag to use on something else!
I love to try to tie tags/journaling spots into my layouts in the titles....it can give the title a little boost of detail and fun.
One of the tags was calling out to me to make a card with it, so I jumped in and made one of those too!
Supplies: Cardstock-American Crafts; Pattern Paper-Simple Stories (Fabulous); Ribbon-Maya Road; Tag-My Mind's Eye Journal Card Kit; Punch-Fiskars; Adhesive-Scotch ATG, Fabri-tac and Scrapbook Adhesives
Silhouette Cameo with the following file

(note-I created an offset for the "let the journey" part of the card...it is not included in the file itself)
A closer look at the tag I used for the jumping point of the card.
So do YOU want to win a 20.00 gift certificate to ScrapbookSteals for a future purchase?! All you have to do is to comment on all the blogs in the hop by no later than 11:59 on Sunday, May 13th (tomorrow!) MST and you are entered to win.
Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope I have given you some scrapbooking ideas to use in your projects!
